About This Messaging Program

Troy Periodontics Mahogany Miles, D.M.D., M.S.D. ("Troy Periodontics," "we," "our," or "us") operates an SMS text messaging program for patients and prospective patients who ask us to contact them by text. These terms explain how that program works.

You are enrolled only if you checked the SMS consent box on one of our forms. Submitting your phone number by itself does not enroll you. Consent to receive text messages is never required in order to request an appointment, become a patient, or receive treatment.

Types of Messages You May Receive

• Replies and follow-up about an inquiry you submitted
• Appointment scheduling, confirmations, and reminders
• Answers to questions you send us by text
• Occasional practice updates relevant to your care

We do not send marketing blasts, and we do not text you about anything unrelated to your inquiry or your care.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Most conversations are a handful of messages tied to a specific appointment or question. We do not send messages on a fixed schedule.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Troy Periodontics does not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for sending or receiving them depending on your plan. Contact your carrier if you are unsure about your rates.

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving text messages at any time. Reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting you. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts after that.

Opting out of text messages does not affect your care in any way. You remain welcome to call the office, email us, or be contacted by phone. If you opt out and later change your mind, reply START or tell us at your next visit.

Carrier Liability

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your carrier's network and on factors outside our control.

Supported Carriers

This program is supported on most major United States wireless carriers. Carrier participation can change without notice, and we cannot guarantee delivery on every network.

Privacy and Your Mobile Information

Your mobile phone number and any information you send us by text are handled under our Privacy Policy. We will never share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Please do not send detailed medical history, diagnostic information, or other sensitive health details by text. Standard SMS is not a secure or encrypted channel. Call the office to discuss anything of that nature.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS terms. Changes take effect when posted to this page and the date below is revised. Continuing to participate in the messaging program after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
